Gutter Lining

Gutter Lining

Delcote® HPG

Delcote® HPG is a single component, silicone coating for gutter relining. Used in conjunction with Seamsil® 300, (defective joints), the coating system offers a seamless weatherproofing solution.

  • It is UV resistant and accommodates gutter movement.
  • It repels water and will not sacrificially erode.
  • It forms an oxygen-free bond to steel – providing a primerless, anti corrosion membrane.

DELCOTE® HPG is an elastomeric membrane, with vapour breathable properties suitable for application as a protective weatherproofing coating to completely coat the gutter surface. It has excellent elastic and flexible properties to withstand normal surface movements and is unaffected by UV or extremes of weather and temperature.

Problem: Defective Gutter Joints

Some of the main problems encountered on leaking gutters originate from the joints themselves. Poorly installed seals or twisted and misaligned gutter sections often make it impossible to effect a watertight seal. Corroded bolts cannot be re-tightened.

The Seamsil® 300 Specification is designed for this purpose, particularly in situations where the existing defective joint cannot be broken and reassembled.

Treatment: Seamsil® 300

The Seamsil® 300 system has been developed against a background of decades of experience of roof repair and is designed to be user friendly in application, comprising a gun applied sealant followed by a coating of brush applied Basecoat.

Seamsil is used to provide an externally applied fully bonded flexible joint, capable of withstanding all normal gutter movements without cracking and at the same time ensuring that the joint remains totally watertight.

Seamsil® is unaffected by weathering conditions such as sunlight, ultra violet radiation, rain, snow and temperature extremes. The excellent weather-ability and high temperature movement accommodation enables the system to perform after many years of exposure.

Liquasil Metal Gutterseal System

Liquasil’s industrial and commercial liquid gutter lining comes with as 12 year Latent Defects Insurance Guarantee* and is available for several different gutter types, including those made from asbestos cement, metal, concrete and some single-ply systems.

Being silicone based, the liner system will create a complete and seamless lining that will eliminate leaks.

We call our gutter lining system “Gutterseal” – a generic name to encompass the entire system, though it is made up of a small number of component parts.

Commercial property gutter systems often cause difficulties as they age and each type has their own specific issues.

Common to all however, is leakage at the joints and for this reason, we have included our Non-Sag Sealer within the Gutterseal system to eliminate joint leaks at their source, without the need to remove any fixings or replace rotted seals.

The process for installing the Liquasil liquid gutter lining is:

  • Clean and thoroughly dry the gutter, particularly at the joints
  • Scrape/brush away all loose and flaking materials
  • Apply Liquasil corrosion treatment to all areas affected by rust
  • Apply Liquasil Non-Sag Sealer to all joints (also fills small holes and cracks)
  • Apply one coat of Liquasil One liquid gutter liner to entire length of gutter

Once installed, the gutter will no longer leak and because the liner is adhered directly to the substrate, it will not lift, crease, crack, peel or otherwise deteriorate.

As with all gutter systems, regular cleaning of the gutters will ensure that they remain free-flowing always. If dirt and debris is not allowed to accumulate within the newly lined gutter, nothing will grow on the surface.

* The Liquasil liquid gutter lining system, when installed by one of our approved installer, comes with a 12 year Latent Defects Collateral Warranty as standard on all installations of more than 75 sq metres in size.
